16.  Remove the drain screw from the bottom of the float bowl. Remove the red washer from the stock screw, you will need to reuse it for the adjustable needle. Place the spring over the adjustable screw, thread on the locking nut to the needle, install the red washer over the needle.  cover the threads in gas proof sealant and insert the needle into the drain hole in the bottom of the float bowl and screw it in a few turns.
Phillips head screwdriver, gas proof sealant(Permatex HYLOMAR HPF gasket dressing)
17.  Reinstall the float bowl. MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE FLOAT BACK INTO BOWL. Also make sure the gasket in in the correct place.  Once the bowl is secure, tighten the newly inserted needle a few turns and lock the nut into place.  DO not thread it all the way in!!!

18.  Next we need to install new tapered needle.
14mm Wrench
19.  Pull out the old one and move the clip over
small pliers
20.  Instructions said third clip from top.  I tried it and my midrange was toast.  I moved it to the 5th position (bottom in this picture) and my midrange returned.  Try whatever works for you

21.  Reassemble and put carb back on bike and whatever else you took off.

22.  Start the bike on the stand, you may need to adjust the needle if the bike is not running well. Tighten it to make it leaner, Loosen it to make it richer.  Once the bike will idle, Hold the throttle wide open and tighten the needle to make it leaner. You should hear the bike get louder as you tighten the needle. tighten it until the bike begins to stutter and bog down.  Once the needle is in the correct spot, tighten the lock nut into the bottom of the carb to lock the jet in place
